Liz Rusch is a world-class author, and the kidlit world rejoices when she publishes. While the postponement of her new book, Mario and the Hole in the Sky: How a Chemist Saved Our Planet, is unfortunate, we look forward to the new and improved edition. What an important and timely title. The nonfiction community stands with Liz and Charlesbridge.

Having read the Advance Readers Copy of Liz's book, I know what a well-written, important work it is. It is well worth waiting for. It addresses an important topic related to climate change, shows the growth and professional development of a Mexican American scientist, and explains the nature of scientific inquiry. It is beautifully explained in a way that is accessible to young readers. 28/2/2018 03:19:01 pm
Sad that Liz and Charlesbridge must suffer for someone else's actions, but I'm glad that Charlesbridge and SCBWI have chosen to uphold their high standards. I hope this will be the last such incident, but I'm afraid it won't be. Comments are closed.
